All major US stocks settled higher yesterday with boost in technology sector, offsetting the increase in core inflation rate for August. The data released yesterday dashed hopes for a bigger interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve next week. Nasdaq Composite increased more than two percent, S&P 500 rose more than one percent and Dow Jones Industrial Average was 0.3 percent up.
