Tamilnadu CM M.K.Stalin has ordered the police officers to conduct an inquiry and bring the culprits to justice in the murder of State President of BSP K.Armstrong. Expressing deep shock and condolences to the bereaved family and the party workers in a statement, he said that the police had arrested eight persons in this connection within hours of the brutal attack yesterday. In his order to the police, the Chief Minister said that the case should be dealt with in an expeditious manner.

Condemning the incident and quoting recent violent attacks,  Union Minister of State Dr. L. Murugan in an interaction with the media at Chennai today, blamed the DMK government for failure to maintain law and order and also pointed out that this attack on a State President of a national party had shown the deterioration.

The mortal remains of the slain leader Armstrong have been kept at the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital Chennai and are expected to be handed over to the family. The Dean of the Hospital Dr. Therani Rajan said that the formalities are yet to be completed. BSP Party workers protested in front of the Hospital demanding that the body be taken in a procession.
Leaders cutting across party lines have demanded speedy action from the State Government.

The 52-year-old leader Armstrong was killed by a mob yesterday night in front of his house at Chennai. BSP Chief Mayawati is likely to pay her last respects to the mortal remains tomorrow.
