Taiwan has reported a sharp increase in cyberattacks throughout 2024, with incidents doubling compared to the previous year. Government officials claimed Chinese hackers were responsible for most cyberattacks, which doubled to a daily average of 2.4 million against the country last year.
The Taiwanese National Security Bureau, in a report, stated that most of the daily attacks on the Government Service Network were attributed to China’s cyber force. It added that defence, telecommunications, and transport sectors were among the top targets, with many of the cyberattacks effectively detected and blocked.
