Uttarakhand Bypoll: BJP retains Bageshwar assembly seat by margin of 2405 votes

In Uttarakhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party has retained the Bageshwar assembly seat in a bypoll. In the counting of votes held today, Parvati Das has won by a margin of 2405 votes retaining her late husband BJP leader and Cabinet Minister Chandan Ram Das's seat. The BJP candidate bagged 33247 votes, while Congress Basant Kumar got 30842 votes. It may be recalled, the Bageshwar Assembly constituency was represented by Chandan Ram Das four times in a row from 2007 to 2023.  ...
