According to RBI data, there are 55,891 ATMs in rural areas: Govt replies in RS

There are 55 thousand 891 ATMs in the rural areas of the country as per the data given by Reserve Bank of India.   In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad said that in order to drive ATM penetration in the country with a greater force to small cities under tier3 and 4, RBI has permitted non-bank companies to set up, own and operate White Label ATMs in the country....
