Average processing time of Income Tax Returns reduced to 10 days

Average processing time of Income Tax Returns (ITR) has reduced to ten days in the Assessment Year 2023-24. Average processing time of ITR was 82 days in the Assessment Year 2019-20, and 16 days in Assessment Year 2022-23. Income Tax Department said, it is committed to process the ITR in a speedy and efficient manner to the taxpayers. More than 6.5 crore Income Tax Returns filed this financial year so far

Income Tax Department has said that more than 6.50 crore Income Tax Returns have been filed so far. It said 36 lakh 91 thousand ITRs have been filed till 6 PM yesterday. The Income Tax (IT) Department has achieved a new milestone with over six crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) filed this year so far. Around 26 lakh 76 thousand ITRs have been filed till 6.30 pm yesterday. The e-filing portal witnessed more than one crore 30 lakh successful logins till 6.30 pm.
