Asian markets ended mixed

Asian markets today ended mixed. Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged 1.1 percent, South Korea's Kospi climbed half a percent and Singapore's Straits Times index gained 0.4 percent.       On the other hand, China's Shanghai Composite and Japan's Nikkei-225, both declined 0.8 percent each.      European Markets were positive in intra-day trade.
