T20 World Cup: India will play against Arch-Rivals Pakistan on June 9

In the ICC T20 World Cup cricket, India beat Ireland by 8 wickets in their group-stage clash in New York last night. Put into bat first, Ireland were bundled out on a meagre score of 96 runs in 16 overs as Indian bowlers Hardik Pandya picked up three wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each.

In reply, India easily overhauled the target lossing two wickets in just 12.2 overs, riding on Captain Rohit Sharma’s 52 and Rishabh Pant’s 36 runs.

Akashvani correspondent reports, India triumphed over Ireland by 8 wickets in their opening encounter, yesterday. However, it’s the next match against the arch-rivals, Pakistan on Sunday that has everyone brimming with high anticipations.

Skipper Rohit Sharma is expected to recover from a bruised bicep in time for the highly anticipated match. However, concerns over the pitch conditions at Nassau County have overshadowed preparations for the marquee clash.

Out of the seven head-to-head T20 World Cup matches so far, the Men in Blue have won six matches, while Pakistan managed to win only one. Akashvani will broadcast the live commentary of the match.

In today’s first match, Uganda defeated Papua New Guinea by three wickets at the Providence Stadium in Guyana this morning. In the second match, Australia beat Oman by 39 runs at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Pakistan will take on United at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas this evening. Meanwhile, Namibia will face Scotland at Kensington Oval in Barbados, later.
