T20 World Cup: South Africa beat Bangladesh by 4 runs in New York

In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket, South Africa defeated Bangladesh by four runs at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, US last night.

Opting to bat first, South Africa scored 113 for 6 in the stipulated 20 overs. Heinrich Klaasen, with 46 runs from 44 balls was the top scorer for the Proteas. For Bangladesh, Tanzim Hasan Sakib bagged three wickets.

While chasing the target of 114, Bangladesh could score only 109 for seven in 20 overs. They needed 11 runs in the last over. However, Keshav Maharaj restricted Bangladesh to fall just 4 runs short of their target.

Maharaj scalped three wickets, while Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada took two wickets each.

Today, Pakistan will take on Canada at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Pakistan is still striving for a victory in the tournament, having suffered defeats against the arch-rival India and the newcomers, the USA, in their preceding matches.

While, Canada defeated Ireland by 12 runs in their last match.
