A Delhi court sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar to 14 days judicial custody on Friday, stating that the investigation is still at a nascent stage and completing it would require time in the Swati Maliwal alleged assault case. Additional Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava submitted an application seeking judicial custody for Kumar for conducting a proper investigation and to prevent the accused from tampering with evidence or making any threat or inducement to the witnesses. The FIR against Bibhav Kumar was registered on May 16. Mr. Kumar has since then approached the Delhi High Court to appeal for bail. The Delhi High Court reserved Kumar’s bail plea order on the issue of maintainability.
