Supreme Court to hear RG Kar Medical College rape and murder case tomorrow; People hold rallies across west bengal

People from all walks of life took to Streets in various parts of Kolkata city today as the RG Kar Medical College rape and murder case is coming up for hearing in the Supreme Court tomorrow. A team of doctors flew black balloons and marched from NRS Medical College and hospital upto Dharmatala. The rally, called by Joint Platform of Doctors, was attended by senior and junior doctors, along with health workers and medical students. Parents of the victim also joined the rally.
 
In another rally, Ex-students from more than 50 schools at South Kolkata marched from Gariahat to Rashbehari crossing. Parents of the victim joined them at Rashbehari. Supporters of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan once again took to streets demanding justice in the horrific rape and murder incident. They were joined by writers, artists and theatre personalities. Their march began in front of Swami Vivekananda’s house at North Kolkata and ended at Shyambazar. Artistes and technicians from Tollygunge once again took to streets from Tollygunge tram depot to Hazra crossing. At Kumartuli, the ‘patua’ artists had also organised a rally. 
 
The rickshaw-pullers organised a rally from Hedua to College Street. The civil society has once again given a call to reclaim the night. The programme will continue at different parts of the city throughout the night. This time the call is for reclaiming the dawn as well. There are reports of rallies from several districts also.
