A five-member delegation of Supreme Court judges led by Justice BR Gavai, who is also the executive chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), arrived in Imphal this morning. Upon arriving at Imphal, a delegation of four Supreme Court judges, led by Justice B.R. Gavai, visited Churachandpur today.
The delegation included Justice Vikram Nath and Justice M.M. Sundresh, accompanied by Chief Secretary Prasant Kumar Singh, High Court of Manipur Chief Justice D. Krishna Kumar, Judge Golmei Gaiphulshillu, and DGP Rajiv Singh. Upon arrival, the delegation inspected the conditions at Sadbhavna Mandap Relief Camp in Tuibong, engaging with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing there. Essential relief materials were distributed to assist the affected families.
The team of Supreme Court judges also participated in the enrolment campaign in which eligible IDPs were enrolled as beneficiaries for various schemes.
On the returning journey to Imphal, they visited relief camps opened in Moirang College, Bishnupur district, and heard grievances faced by IDPs. The judges will attend a function to be held at Manipur High Court in Imphal tomorrow.
