Sudan: Over 114 civilians killed in RSF attacks in El Fasher

In Sudan, more than 114 civilians have been killed in attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on two displacement camps over the past two days in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur. Officials confirmed that over 100 civilians were killed in the Zamzam displacement camp on Friday, while another 14 were killed in a separate militia attack on the Abu Shouk displacement camp yesterday.

Among the victims in the Zamzam camp were nine employees of a non-governmental organization operating a field hospital in the camp. The RSF has not issued any immediate comment regarding the attacks. Fierce fighting has been ongoing in El Fasher between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF since May 10, 2024. Sudan has been embroiled in a devastating conflict between the SAF and RSF since mid-April 2023, a war that has claimed more than 29,600 lives.
