State govt is fully committed to curb drug menace in Gujarat: Harsh Sanghavi

As part of the Anti Drugs operation, nearly 1786 cases have been registered in Gujarat and more than 2600 accused have been arrested in connection with drug trafficking during the last four years. Addressing media in Ahmedabad today, Minister of State for Homes Harsh Sanghavi said the state government is fully committed to curb the drug menace in the state. He said Gujarat Police has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and Gujarat is among the first states to introduce a Reward policy for informers to curb drug abuse. He said the state Police have arrested over 350 accused and seized over 9 thousand 760 kilograms of drugs worth 480 crores rupees during the last six months only. The minister also urged the citizens, media and religious leaders to come together to spread awareness about drugs and fight against the drug menace and protect our young generations.
