In Manipur, the State Election Commission has placed all preparations to ensure free and fair polls for two seats of Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies. On the 19th of April, voting will be conducted in the forty-seven State Assembly Constituencies including fifteen Assembly Constituencies which come under Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency. The voting for the remaining thirteen State Assembly Constituencies of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency will be held on the 26th of April. More than twenty lakh twenty-six voters including two hundred thirty-nine transgender voters will cast their votes for two seats. 
 

In Manipur, the voting will be conducted at two thousand nine hundred fifty-five polling stations spread across the State. The Election Authority has also arranged special polling stations for Internally Displaced Persons due to ethnic violence in the State. Around thirty-four thousand seven hundred first-time voters are also ready to exercise their voting rights this time. In the last Election, the voting percentage of both the Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies crossed 80 per cent. This year also, the political parties and candidates are engaging to woo the voters and the voting percentage is expected to be high.

 
The political party- INC fielded candidates in both Outer and Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies while BJP fielded State Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar from Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency. The party has announced that the BJP will support the Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate in the Outer Lok Sabha seat of Manipur. During the scrutiny held on Thursday, ten nomination papers were accepted for both the seats. However, today is the last date for the withdrawal of the nomination papers and how many candidates will be in the fray in the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 in Manipur will be decided this evening.
