State Cooperative Development Committee approves district-wise plan of setting up 491 Cooperative societies across Arunachal Pradesh

In Arunachal Pradesh, the State Cooperative Development Committee had its first meeting at the State Civil Secretariat in Itanagar yesterday. In the first sitting, the State Cooperative Development Committee approved the district-wise plan of setting up of 491 Cooperative societies across the State over the period of next five years. These include 150 Large Sized Multi Purpose Cooperative Societies, 157 Dairy Cooperative Societies and 184 Fisheries Cooperative Societies.

The meeting was chaired by the state’s Chief Secretary Dharmendra. The committee also approved the setting up of a 500 metric ton grain storage plan by Namsai Large Sized Multi Purpose Cooperative Societies on a pilot basis. During the meeting, Mr. Dharmendra also reviewed the steps taken by the Department of Cooperation in implementing various schemes and initiatives of the Central government in the state.
