Twelve fishermen from Akkaraipettai in Nagapattinam district were arrested by the Srilankan Navy early this morning. The boat in which they travelled was also secured by them.

They were fishing near Mullaitheevu when the Srilankan Navy surrounded them for trespassing into international waters. They were taken to the Matilatti Port for interrogation. Presently they are lodged in the prison at Jaffna and will be produced at the Court.
