The External Affairs Ministry today said that India is looking forward to the visit of Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Briefing media in New Delhi this afternoon, Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said Sri Lanka is a neighbouring country with whom India has very important relationships. On Sri Lanka considering a trade-in Indian Rupee, Mr Bagchi said Sri Lanka has already notified Indian Rupee as designated foreign currency in their system.
Responding to a query on the Pakistani national Seema Haider case, the spokesperson said the External Affairs Ministry is aware of the matter. She was presented before the court and is now out on bail. Mr Bagchi said the matter is under investigation.
On whether Russian President Vladimir Putin would attend the upcoming G20 Summit, the spokesperson said India is looking forward to the leader's participation. He said that as it is a physical Summit, invitations have been sent to all.
