Sri Lanka to host 83rd edition of Madras-Colombo Regatta on August 3

Sri Lanka’s Colombo is set to host the 83rd edition of the prestigious Madras-Colombo Regatta on 3rd August. This oldest sporting competition between India and Sri Lanka is the longest-running continuous regatta between the two countries, celebrating decades of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The Madras Boat Club and the Colombo Rowing Club participants will showcase their rowing prowess. 

 

The event will draw a large audience, including dignitaries, sports enthusiasts, and club members. The regatta will feature 12 thrilling events, including eight men’s and four women’s competitions. The coveted Deepam Trophy will be awarded to the overall Men’s category winners, while the Adyar Trophy will go to the Women’s champions. The highlight of the regatta, the Boat Race Trophy will be presented to the winners of the men’s senior fours. In 2023, The Regatta was hosted at the Madras Boat Club in Chennai.
