Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed gratitude for India’s financial support that helped the island nation survive two tough years of economic crisis. Addressing the 31st All India Partners meet in Colombo, Mr. Wickremesinghe emphasized his commitment to maintaining a strong partnership with India. The President recalled his recent visit to India to attend the swearing-in of the new government and mentioned that he discussed core areas of partnership with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar made an official visit to Sri Lanka on Thursday, during which he discussed avenues for strengthening India-Sri Lanka cooperation in various sectors. India has been pursuing several projects that would help Sri Lanka achieve energy self-sufficiency.
