In Sri Lanka, a special workshop for newly elected Members of Parliament of the 10th Parliament will be held later this month. The workshop to be held for three days from 25th of November will focus on parliamentary procedures, session activities, and the functioning of committees, providing essential knowledge to the new MPs.
Parliamentary election concluded yesterday with several new members now elected to the house from the ruling National People’s Power as the coalition won a landslide. The Parliament would convene for the first sitting on Thursday during which, President Anura Dissanayake will make a policy statement.
Registration of the newly elected MPs will take place on November 18, 19, and 20 at the parliamentary premises. Dedicated teams of officials have been assigned to facilitate this process. To ensure smooth execution of these activities, the leave of parliamentary staff has been suspended.
