In Sri Lanka, the Attorney General’s Department has filed an indictment in the High Court against Namal Rajapaksa. Member of Parliament and son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa, has been alleged to be involved in the form of illegal payoffs in the Krish project. The case revolves around accusations of financial misconduct and irregularities linked to the Krish Group’s investments in Sri Lanka. The 650-million-dollar mixed development project was initiated during the second term of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The indictment of Namal comes close after the arrest of his younger brother, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, in another corruption case.
