In Squash, Veer Chotrani and Anahat Singh advanced to the finals of the World Championship Qualifying Event (Asia) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today. The second-seeded Chotrani prevailed 3-1 against Chi Him Wong, his eighth-seeded opponent from Hong Kong. The Indian will now be up against either Muhammad Asim Khan, the top seed from Pakistan, or Ameeshenraj Chandran, the third seed from Malaysia, in the final tomorrow.
Meanwhile, in the women’s section, the 17-year-old Anahat, seeded fifth, took down Helen Tang from Hong Kong, 3-0. She will face either compatriot Akanksha Salunkhe or Hong Kong’s Toby Tse in the summit clash tomorrow.
The winners of the tournament will qualify for the world championships scheduled in Chicago from May 9 to 17.
