Snowfall and Hailstorms in Himachal Pradesh Damage Crops, Temperatures Drop

In Himachal Pradesh, due to an active western disturbance, light snowfall occurred intermittently on the higher peaks, while hailstorms were reported in other parts of the state. This snowfall has led to a drop in temperature and has also caused damage to cash crops, including apples and wheat.

Due to the active western disturbance in Himachal Pradesh, intermittent light snowfall continued today on the higher peaks of the state, while hailstorms and rain persisted in other regions. As a result of the snowfall and hail, temperatures have dropped by 5 to 8 degrees Celsius. Additionally, hailstorms have caused damage to cash crops, including apples and wheat in several areas of the state. The Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of rain and thunderstorms in the next 12 hours in seven districts of the state – Solan, Shimla, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Sirmaur, Una, and Mandi.
