The Government today said the six States and four Union Territories reported to have provided tap water connection to every rural household so far. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel said Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana and Union territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu and Puducherry have achieved the target. He said, the remaining States and Union Territories have been advised to cover all their rural households with the Mission. 

Mr. Patel said at the time of the announcement of the Jal Jeevan Mission, 3.23 crore rural households were reported to have tap water connections in the country. Since then, tap water supply has been provided to an additional 9.40 crore rural households. Thus, so far, out of 19.46 crore rural households in the country, provision of tap water supply has been made to 12.63 crore households.
