Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang convened a high-level meeting with Chief Secretary V.B. Pathak, Army Chief General Manoj Pande, GOC Eastern Command Lieutenant General R.P. Kalita, GOC 33 Corps Lieutenant General VPS Kaushik, and GOC 17th Mountain Division Major General Amit Kabthiyal earlier today. Discussions were held to sort measures and restoration works caused by the calamity that occurred last week. The meeting was held keeping in priority the government's commitment to swiftly respond to the crisis and work hand-in-hand with military personnel to ensure the well-being and recovery of the affected communities.

Earlier, 3rd team of NDRF trekked to Chungthang via Dzongu. Two teams have already been deployed at Chungthang, and are carrying out rescue and relief operations. The first batch of tourists evacuated from Lachen by army helicopter was received at Ringhim Helipad, Mangan this morning.
