Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has announced his resignation from the Soreng-Chakung constituency as per the Conduct of Election Rules. This decision follows his victory in two constituencies during the recent elections, necessitating compliance with electoral regulations within 14 days of the results declaration. His party, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), won 31 of the 32 Assembly seats in the polls, which took place simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections. Tamang won from both the Rhenock and Soreng-Chakung constituencies that he contested. In an official statement today, Chief Minister Tamang expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Sikkim, particularly those in the Soreng-Chakung and Rhenock constituencies, for their overwhelming support.
