Severe heatwave condition to continue in isolated pockets of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal: IMD

India Meteorological Department, IMD has forecast severe heatwave conditions in many parts of Gangetic West Bengal for tomorrow and in isolated pockets over Jharkhand and  Bihar till the 24th of this month. However, in Odisha, the heat wave conditions will gradually abate from tomorrow.It said, hot and humid weather is also expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and  Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala till Wednesday. It has also forecast warm conditions during night over East Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh tomorrow.

In its forecast, IMD has said that widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning is also expected over Arunachal Pradesh and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Assam. Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and  Tripura till the 24th of this month. Besides, isolated to scattered light and moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and  Sikkim till the 26th and Odisha till the 24th and  Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand from  22nd to 23rd of this month. It said isolated light rainfall is also likely over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during the period till 26th April and  Konkan and Goa till Monday. IMD has said that light to moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the period till 26th  of this month. Isolated to scattered rainfall is also expected over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh till Tuesday.
