Intermittent light to moderate rainfall has been experienced in different parts of Uttarakhand since yesterday morning. A red alert for extremely heavy rainfall has also been issued in the Kumaon region. Traffic has been affected in some parts of the state after heavy rains and landslides. Landslides after heavy rains across the state have affected traffic in the hilly areas. Badrinath National Highway was closed for movement near Pagalnala in the Chamoli district, and Yamunotri National Highway was closed for movement due to landslides in Dabarkot; however, it has been operational.
On the other hand, the road leading to Adi Kailash has been blocked for movement due to a landslide. 50 motor routes in the state are still closed for movement due to heavy rains and landslides at Tawaghat in Pithoragarh district. More than fifty motor routes in the state are still closed for movement due to heavy rains and landslides. Efforts are being made to open them. Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued a red alert warning of very heavy to extremely heavy rains in the Kumaon region of the state for the next three days. Along with this, heavy rains have also been predicted in some parts of the Garhwal region.
