The Benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading over 2.2 per cent up in the afternoon trade today, driven by positive global cues and widespread buying across various sectors. The 30-share BSE Sensex surged 1,637 points to 74,775, and the NSE Nifty50 rose 496 points to 22,658 when reports last came in.
