Benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading higher in the afternoon trade today, boosted by Realty, Banking, Financial Services and Auto sectors. The 30-share BSE Sensex surged 869 points, or 1.15 per cent, to 76,235, and the NSE Nifty50 gained 221 points, almost one per cent, to 23,050 when reports last came in.

Conversely, the broader market at the Bombay Stock Exchange was trading in negative territory. The Mid-Cap index was marginally down by over 0.1 percent and the Small-Cap index shed 1.4 percent, a short while ago.
