Domestic Benchmark Indices, Sensex and Nifty traded firm and ended the week’s last session more than one and half a percent up today.
At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex zoomed 1,331 points, or 1.68 percent, to close at 80,437. The NSE Nifty advanced 397 points, or 1.65 percent, to close at 24,541. In NSE, 95 Companies hit their 52 week high, 31 hit their 52 week low. In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap and the Small-cap indices rose nearly 2 percent. In the Sensex index of 30 companies, Except Sunpharma which ended flat with a slim loss, 29 companies registered gains.
The top gainers today were, Tech Mahendra more than 4 percent, Tata Motors and Mahendra and Mahendra nearly 3 and half a percent and TCS around 3 percent. In Sectoral Indices at the BSE, all 20 sectors logged gain. The top gainers were, Information Technology nearly 3 percent, Teck and Utility more than 2 percent, and Services and auto nearly 2 percent.
The overall market breadth at the BSE was positive, out of 4,036 Companies, shares of 2,462 Companies advanced, 1,467 declined and 107 remain unchanged.
