Benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading with losses of over half a per cent in the afternoon trade today, weighed down by media, banking, and utilities sectors. The 30-share BSE Sensex slipped 531 points, to 80,154, and the NSE Nifty50 dropped 152 points, to 24,184, when reports last came in.

The broader market at the Bombay Stock Exchange was also trading in negative territory. The Mid-Cap and the Small-Cap indices were trading over 0.7 per cent down, a short while ago.
