Sensex-Nifty Post Biggest Weekly Fall in 2 Months Amid Fed Rate Uncertainty

Snapping a two-week rising streak, domestic markets posted the biggest weekly fall in the last 2 months amid mixed global markets ahead of uncertainty around US Federal Reserve rate plans going ahead. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange shed 1844 points, or 2.3 percent, during the week, to end at 77,379. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange plunged 573 points, or 2.4 percent, to close at 23,432. In the broader market, the BSE Mid-cap Index plunged 5.7 percent, and the Small-cap Index tumbled 6 percent.
