Domestic benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, were closed today due to a public holiday on Gandhi Jayanti. Yesterday, both the indices edged lower, extending the losing run for the third day. The Sensex dipped 33 points, to end at 84,266. The Nifty also closed marginally lower by 14 points to 25,797. Sensex has shed nearly 1,570 points or nearly 2 per cent and Nifty declined 419 points or 1.6 per cent since Friday.
