Sensex gains 622 points; Nifty jumps 186 points

The benchmark domestic indices on Friday (12th July 2024) hit fresh all-time highs, primarily led by gains in IT and Teck stocks. The Sensex and the Nifty rose around 0.8 percent each. The Sensex closed at 80,519 with a gain of 622 points and Nifty-50 jumped 186 points to settle at 24,502.  

 

In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap index down by 0.22 percent, while the Small-cap index fell 0.13 percent.

 

20 out of 30 companies registered gains in the Sensex index. The top three gainers today were TCS 6.68 percent, Wipro 4.81 percent and Infosys 3.57 percent. Conversely, the three major laggards were, Maruti one percent, Coal India 0.79 percent and Asian Paint 0.79 percent.

 

The Nifty index, share of 34 companies advances whereas the share 16 campanies declined.

 

In Sectoral Indices at the BSE, 11 out of 20 sectors logged loss. The top two gainers were, Information Technology 4.32 percent, Teck 3.29 percent. On the other hand, 3 major laggards were, Realty 1.56 percent, Auto 0.53 percent and Utilities 0.48 percent.

 

In the BSE, 285 Companies hit their 52 week high, 21 companies hit their 52 week low.
