Domestic benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading lower amid weak global cues. The 30-share BSE Sensex shed 373 points to 81,447 while the NSE Nifty-50 was at 24,941, with a loss of 116 points. Both the indices were trading over 0.4 percent down a short while ago.

In line with the equity market, the broader market at Bombay Stock Exchange was also trading in negative territory. The mid-cap index fell 0.3 percent and the small-cap index was trading 0.1 percent down when the reports last came in.
