Benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading marginally lower in the afternoon trade today, dragged by FMCG, media and auto stocks. The 30-share BSE Sensex shed 171 points, to 81,355, and the NSE Nifty50 fell 63 points, to 24,579. Both the indices were trading over 0.2 percent down, when reports last came in.
The broader market at the Bombay Stock Exchange was also trading in negative territory. The Mid-Cap index was trading half per cent down, and the Small-Cap index had lost over 0.8 per cent, a short while ago.
