Domestic benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty are trading sharply lower amid weak global clues and escalating conflict in West Asia.

The BSE Sensex plunged 1,515 points to 82,751, and Nifty-50 was trading 472 points down at 25,324. Both the indices lost over 1.8 percent each when the reports last came in.

The broader market at the BSE also logged losses. The midcap index declined more than two percent and the smallcap index shed 1.7 percent a short while ago.
