India’s equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty ended in negative territory today. Both the indices slipped nearly half percent each in a volatile intra-day trade as investors awaited crucial US inflation data due today.

        At close, the Sensex, which is pack of 30 companies was down 398 points at 81,523 and the NSE Nifty was down 123 points at 24,918.
