Sensex and Nifty settled flat on Friday amid negative cues from the global share markets. The Sensex inched down by eight points to close at 75,410. The Nifty slid 11 points to settle at 22,957.

In the forex market, the rupee closed at 83 rupees and 10 paise against the US dollar. Gold, at Multi Commodity Exchange for June contracts, were trading at 71,579 rupees per 10 gram. Silver, for July Contracts, trading at 91,229 rupees per kilogram when reports last came in.

In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 81 dollars and 10 cents per barrel.
