The domestic benchmark indices today slumped over one percent, amid sell-off across sectors, as investors grew cautious ahead of the US presidential election and Federal Reserve’s monetary policy meeting this week. The 30-share BSE Sensex tumbled 942 points, or 1.18 percent to 78,782, while the NSE Nifty50 declined 309 points, or 1.27 percent, to 23,995. The broader market at Bombay Stock Exchange fell more than the equity markets. The Mid-Cap index slid over 1.3 percent and the Small-Cap index dropped more than one and half percent.
