In Bihar, former minister and senior RJD leader Shyam Rajak today quit the party, alleging betrayal of top leadership. Mr. Rajak, who was the national general secretary of the party, was sidelined from the organisation in recent days as he failed to get nominated for the Rajya Sabha and Bihar Legislative Council in the by-elections. Speculation is rife that Mr. Rajak may again join Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United).
