Security intensifies across Jammu with increased checking and patrolling ahead of Independence Day celebrations

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, security has been intensified across the Jammu region with increased checking and patrolling ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that as a measure of multi-tier security, police have deployed additional Quick Response Teams (QRTs) in Jammu city to deal with any situation. A multi-layer security arrangement duly backed by ground and aerial surveillance has been put in place across Jammu and Kashmir to thwart any untoward incident during the 77th Independence Day celebrations. Border grid security has been tightened and all border roads are being kept under a strict watch and adequate security arrangements have been made to ensure Independence Day passes off peacefully. The main function of the Independence Day in Jammu will be held at Maulana Azad Stadium. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will preside over the Independence Day main function to be held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. Whereas, Adviser to Lieutenant Governor, R. R. Bhatnagar will preside over the Independence Day function at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu.
