The scorching heat continues to break all the records in Uttar Pradesh. The heatwave is taking toll on human beings as well as animals in the state. There is no respite from the heat at night also. According to the Meteorological Department, Prayagraj was the hottest city in the country with 47.6 degrees Celsius yesterday. In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature in Lucknow and its surrounding districts was recorded above normal. The minimum temperature was also recorded above normal.
According to the Met Department, there will be no significant change in temperature in the next 24 hours but thereafter temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. It has issued a red alert for intense heat waves in many parts of Uttar Pradesh for the next five days. It has also predicted thunderstorms and light showers with high winds for the next five days.
