SBI submits all electoral bonds data to Election Commission of India

The State Bank of India (SBI) submitted all electoral bonds data to the Election Commission of India on Tuesday. The Commission said that in compliance of the Supreme Court’s directions to the SBI, data on electoral bonds has been supplied by the Bank to it. On Monday, the Supreme Court dismissed the request of SBI seeking extension till 30th of June to disclose details of electoral bonds encashed by political parties, including the date of encashment and the denomination of the electoral bond. It had directed the SBI to disclose details by the close of business hours today. Separately, it asked the Election Commission to publish these details by 5 PM on 15th of March on its website. The Apex Court had, on February 15, scrapped the electoral bonds scheme.
