Representatives from Russia and the United States have begun talks on resolving the Ukrainian conflict at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Russian delegation is led by Grigory Karasin, head of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, and Sergey Beseda, adviser to the director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
Yesterday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that talks between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations had concluded in Riyadh. He described the discussions as productive and focused, with key topics such as energy being addressed. Umerov, who led the Ukrainian delegation, reaffirmed President Volodymyr Zelensky’s commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and Europe.
The meeting followed a previous round of talks in Jeddah, where Ukraine accepted a U.S.-proposed 30-day ceasefire in exchange for the resumption of U.S. military aid and intelligence sharing.
