In the Forex market, the rupee today depreciated by 50 paise to settle at 87 rupees and 20 paise against the US dollar due to month-end dollar demand by importers amid uncertainty over US trade tariffs. Strengthening of the US dollar index and sustained foreign fund outflows also weighed on the domestic currency. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, is trading at 106.59 in intra-day trade.
