In the Forex market on Monday (19th August 2024) , the Indian rupee appreciated eight paise to close at 83 rupees and 87 paise against the U.S. dollar.

The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was down by 0.25 percent at 102.21 in intra-day trade.
