Wimbledon Tennis: Rohan Bopanna, Sumit Nagal to play men’s doubles opening matches with their partners today

In Wimbledon Open Tennis today, India’s Rohan Bopanna and his Australian companion Matthew Ebden will kick off their campaign in London this evening. Bopanna and Ebden will take on Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Adrian Mannarino of France in the men’s doubles first round. The Indo-Australian duo will be competing as the second seeds in the prestigious tournament. Another Indian, Sumit Nagal, will also mark his presence in the men’s doubles along with his partner Dušan Lajović of Serbia. They will face the Spanish duo of Pedro Martínez and Jaume Munar in the first round. Earlier, in the men’s singles first round, second-seeded Novak Djokovic defeated the Czech player Vit Kopriva in straight sets. In women’s singles, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain toppled the women’s defending champion, Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic, in straight sets.
